The City of Shakopee offers recreational opportunities and programs for residents of all ages and abilities.

Programs and activities for YOUTH are scheduled throughout the year, including crafts, gym activities, trips and special events. See the most recent Parks & Rec. brochure for a schedule. Summer is the busiest time of year for youth programs, with popular offerings including T-ball, Near-ball, Adventures in Summer, one-day events, camps, dance, golf, lacrosse, swimming lessons and soccer.
For resident and individuals who work in Shakopee, there are a variety of ADULT sports opportunities provided in safe, fun, competitive and recreational leagues. See the most recent Parks & Rec. brochure for a schedule. Leagues are offered during three of the four Minnesota seasons: winter, summer and fall. Throughout these seasons many different sports are available for participants. The leagues offered are basketball, volleyball (co-rec and women’s), softball and kickball. Teams can sign up for leagues or individuals may be added to an available players list. This list is a great way to play if you are new to the area and want to get involved in the sports programs that the City offers.
We offer several programs for OLDER ADULTS, including: card groups, exercise classes, dances, day trips, dining and more! See the most recent Parks & Rec. brochure for a schedule. We also offer a newsletter of all Senior activities to anyone interested. The Parks and Recreation Program Brochure, which lists all classes, lessons, trips and programs offered for the season, is mailed to Shakopee residents and the Shakopee School District three times a year. Click on the link above for the online version.
