Shakopee Parks and Recreation offers many special events throughout the year for all ages. Everyone's favorite special event is back. Bring your luck for winning some great prizes. Carnival games are geared for children ages 3-10.
Children ages 3-6 (children must be accompanied by an adult) can take part in this fun, new tournament. Tee-off on the temporary mini nine-hole golf course. Participants will use a special three-club plastic golf set and sponge golf balls, while their parent or guardian caddies. Bring your camera to take picture of your child next to the leader board with the trophy. Schedule your tee time between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at 952-233-9500. Please check in at the Youth Building 10 minutes prior to tee time.
The morning kicks off at 8 a.m. with check-in and continental breakfast. Throughout the day, there will be live entertainment (Opus Ensemble), presentations (Stan Tiekela, author/naturalist; Ed Barron, St. Gertrudes, to talk about balance and falls), lunch, vendors and prizes.
Dress in costume and join us for the second annual Jack o' Lantern 5K and Kids Pumpkin Run. There will be prizes for the best costumes and awards for the top three male and female finishers in each age group. Race begins and ends at the Shakopee Community Center. Kids Pumpkin Run to follow 5K event.
