Parks & Recreation Special Events

Shakopee Parks and Recreation offers many special events throughout the year for all ages. Some examples are the Happy Birthday American Parade, Annual Summer Carnival, Park Cleanup Day, and Senior Olympics. Check back often to see what special events are scheduled. 


 

Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, March 27, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Shakopee Community Center

Fee: Free

Join us for a fun time at the Shakopee Community Center. Come rain or shine for egg hunts by age, activities, games, prizes, police cars, fire trucks and more. This event is sponsored by the Shakopee Jaycees and Shakopee Parks and Recreation.  No preregistration is required. For more information, call 952-233-9500.


Cinderella's Daddy-Daughter Princess Ball
Friday, April 16, 6 - 7:30 p.m.
Shakopee Community Center -- Teen Center
Fee: $22 per child, Program # YP 416, Register by April 9

Princesses ages 3 to 8 are invited to join Cinderella and her friends Snow White and Belle for an enchanting evening with a special adult date. We'll enjoy dancing, snacks and more princess fun! All "couples" will have a photo taken by Snow White with next-day access. Each princess will receive her own personalized princess tote bag, a jewelry craft project and an 18 inch tinsel twirler baton to take home. Adults, please bring your camera for memorable photo opportunities, including a group princess photo with your daughter.

 


 

Family Taco Dinner & a Movie
Friday, April 23, 6 - 8 p.m.
Vierling Drive Fire Station
Fee:  $8 per person until 4 p.m., April 9; $10 per person until 4 p.m., April 16; Program #FAM 423
(No registration after April 16)

Enjoy a night out with your family and friends at the Vierling Drive Fire Station. The evening will start with a catered taco bar. While you eat, enjoy a presentation of "Where the Wild Things Are" on the big screen. Kids are welcome to bring a sleeping bag or blanket to lay on the floor during the movie.

 


 

Cinco de Mayo Celebration

17th Avenue Sports Complex

Plans are in the works to help celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Numerous events and activities are being scheduled that visitors can participate in or just watch.
