Natural Resources

The proximity of the City of Shakopee to the Minnesota River has created a diversity of natural resources from floodplains, creeks, ravines, and wetlands to bluffs, prairies, and woodlands. With rapid growth occurring in the City, the inventory,  management and preservation of these resources is an integral part of ensuring that high quality, ecologically sensitive areas are maintained and conservation initiatives are implemented in the development process.
