Fire Station Tours Fire station tours are available for groups ages 3 and older. Tours are scheduled a minimum of one month in advance and are typically one hour in length. Tours can be scheduled by completing the Request for Fire Station Tour or Firefighter Visit form. Forms are also available at Fire Station 1 located at 2700 Vierling Dr. E.
Firefighter and Apparatus Visits Firefighters are available to speak and apparatus are available for display at local events. Staff and equipment may not be available at certain times because of emergency responses. Firefighter and apparatus visits may be scheduled by completing the Request for Fire Station Tour or Firefighter Visit form. Forms are also available at Fire Station 1 located at 2700 Vierling Dr. E.
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) CERT training is designed to prepare you, your family and your neighbors in the event of a catastrophic disaster. You'll learn individual preparedness, planning, survival skills and teamwork within neighborhoods and worksites.
Derby Days Shakopee’s annual community celebration typically held the first weekend in August. Firefighters assist with set-up and take-down of the event. There are also Fire Department water fights and a fire station open house.
Dance To kick off Fire Prevention Week, Shakopee firefighters hold an annual benefit dance. Money raised at this event is used to offset costs of specialized training and equipment.
Open House An open house is held during Fire Prevention Week in October.
Friends of the Firefighters Bike Run This motorcycle event is sponsored by the Shakopee Fire Department Relief Association and will be held June 19, 2010. Proceeds from the ride are used to offset the costs associated with firefighter training. More information is available on the event website at www.friendsofthefiremen.com.
