Shakopee Community Center - Facilities

Cardiovascular & Strength Area

The Fitness Center features equipment by Free Motion Fitness, Cybex, Precor, NuStep and Nordic Track. Strength equipment includes both stacked weight machines as well as free weight machines, dumbbells and barbells. The cardio portion of the fitness center includes 4 treadmills including a new Nordic Track Incline Trainer, 3 stairsteppers, 4 bikes, 5 ellipticals, and 2 NuSteps.

Gymnasium

All ages will enjoy the Community Center gym space with multiple program uses. Features a cushioned hardwood floor with 8 adjustable basketball hoops, 3 volleyball courts, wall partition and a convenient entrance to the locker rooms.

The gymnasium is open seven days a week. There are a variety of activities and programs that happen in the gym. No food or beverages are allowed in the gymnasium. Please help us keep the gym looking great for all visitors!

The majority of gym time is scheduled as Family and Individual Open Gym. This is a time for all ages to come in and enjoy the gym. There will be NO “team” activities or half and full courts pick-up games allowed. Individuals may play mini-games at one hoop, but are not guaranteed exclusive use of the basket.

Respectful communication and behavior is required at all times. Those choosing not to follow the Zero Tolerance Policy will be asked to leave the facility and are not eligible for a refund.

Walking Track

Overlooking the Gymnasium is a 3 lane walking/jogging track. The track is equal to approximately 14 laps per mile. There is no charge to use the track. Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent or adult. Please sign in at the Community Center service desk.

Rotary Room & Studio Room 

Perfect for meeting place for gatherings of 40 people or less. These bright rooms feature many windows, tables and chairs, and counter space with sink.

Rental Opportunities

Groups or individuals interested in reserving or renting the Shakopee Community Center, Rotary Room, Studio Room or gyms may do so by calling 952-233-9500 or completing and returning the Community Center Facility Usage Request form. Individuals and groups using City facilities will be assessed a permit fee or rental fee.
