Police Officer

The Shakopee Police Civil Service Commission is now accepting applications for the position of police officer.  Must be POST licensed or have taken and passed the MN POST exam by application deadline.  Process will establish an eligible register from which the City plans to fill up to 3 positions. Hiring Range:  $4,024 - $5,030 per month depending on qualifications.

Part-Time Job Openings:

The Shakopee Parks, Recreation & Natural Resources Department has openings for the following part-time positions:
 

Ice Arena Supervisor

Responsible for operating the ice resufacer, opening and closing building, collecting money for rentals and public skating, and maintaining a clean facility by performing custodial duties in and around the building.  Minimum Qualifications – Must be at least 18 yrs old and possess strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and the ability to lift 40lbs. Starting Wage:  $11.19 per hr.  Hours:  Weekday position available for hours noon – 6 p.m., Mon-Fri for a total of 10-20 hrs per week.  Evening/weekend position available for 5- 15 hrs. per week. 

Learn to Skate Instructors

Teach ice skating at the Shakopee Ice Arena! Minimum Qualifications:  Must be able to ice skate with knowledge of skating terminology. Must be able to work with children, carry out a lesson plan and work independently. Hours: Wednesdays 6:00-9:00 pm October 6th to May 25h.   Starting Wage:  $14.60 per hour. 

Water Safety Instructor

American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors (WSI) needed to teach evening and weekend swimming lessons.  Must be at least 16 yrs old.  Starting Wage:  $11.10 - $11.85 per hr.
