The Comprehensive Parks, Open Space and Trail Plan, which was last updated in 1998, was designed to help the City plan for future parks and park facilities. The new update is part of the City’s 2030 Comprehensive Plan, which is required for all governmental agencies in the metropolitan area. During the update process, members of the planning group will: • Identify future park land; • Determine future park facilities and amenities; • Evaluate and identify trail corridors and links, as well as open space; • Identify long-term needs, trends and costs; and • Review the City’s current funding formula for its ability to meet future needs.
