The City's newsletter, Hometown Messenger, is published and mailed to Shakopee residents and businesses three times a year in a combined publication with the Shakopee Parks and Recreation Activities Brochure. It contains information about city government happenings, upcoming events, city ordinances, road construction, transit offerings, tips, frequently asked questions and much more.

Government Access
Television



The City of Shakopee operates a government access television station. The station (Channel 16) broadcasts the meetings of the City Council and numerous other City boards and commissions.
