Shakopee Parks and Recreation utilizes the pool at Shakopee East Junior High (located at 1137 South Marschall Rd.) for different programs throughout the year. When the school is closed for district holidays, classes scheduled that day also will be canceled. Shakopee Parks and Recreation utilizes the Shakopee West Junior High School pool for Learn to Swim programs, morning Adult Lap Swim and Open/Lap Swim. The pool is located at 200 10th Ave. E. When the school is closed for district holidays, classes scheduled that day also will be canceled. The Shakopee Aquatics Program utilizes the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program. Please refer to the Aquatics section of the Parks and Recreation Brochure for a complete list of class offerings.
Lifeguard Training Course This course trains individuals to become a professional lifeguard. Students must attend all classes to obtain a LGT certificate. Students must be 15 years of age, demonstrate Level 5 swimming ability and a mature and dependable character. Please check out the Parks and Recreation Brochure for more information.
Water Safety Instructor This course is designed for those individuals who would like to teach swimming lessons and share their love of swimming with others. Pre-requisites: at least 16 years old, Level 5 or higher swim skill and a desire to help others learn to swim. Please check out the Parks and Recreation Brochure for more information.
